New Year's Resolution

It's a new year! and its time we make new years resolutions! You might make a resolution to lose wieght, gain wieght, get good grades, be more spiritual, be less spiritual, or even mark off one more thing off the list of things you want to do before you die. Maybe your New Years resolution is to not die. What ever it is... (mine is lame, I want to get a 4.0 this semester).

After all this New Years stuff, and kissing for the new year, I began to think....

Who even thought of New Years resolutions???

so i did a little research!

" It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago. In the years around 2000 BC, the Babylonian New Year began with the first New Moon (actually the first visible cresent) after the Vernal Equinox (first day of spring).

The New Years resoultion tradition also dates back to the early Babylonians. Popular modern resolutions might include the promise to lose weight or quit smoking. The early Babylonian's most popular resolution was to return borrowed farm equipment. "

so there we have it....

Question of the day...

What is your new years resolution??

  4. I have no doubts that you can pull a 4.0.

I don't really do New Year's resolutions, but lately I have been trying to focus on being better spiritually...so that can count as mine I guess.
